Making sense of our core identity isn’t easy when emotional indicators (the little voices in our heads) sometimes come out of left field.

Emotional Indicators Are An Invaluable Resource

Embrace your emotional indicators. The signals from our gut aren’t really fighting against our mental acuity. They’re actually silent helpers looking out for our best interests. Get in touch with your emotions. They’re one of the most important prognosticators of personal health. Start with giving your emotions equal attention with your other daily experiences. Interactions at work, with family—all your decision-making processes, to a certain extent—add to your emotional indicators. And everyone’s emotional language is unique. That’s why it can be so challenging and complex to decipher.

What Are Emotions, Really?

Emotions are the internal navigation system of our lives. The “feel” of a situation, person, or future choice is the bird’s eye view that predicts clear sailing or a rocky road. Don’t ignore it. Let it guide your decision making. Good choices will boost overall wellness, not deteriorate it with destructive stress.
